Discuss a religion with which you are already very familiar

Create a RELIGION and write up an outline including the name, the core beliefs, and any ceremonies or holidays or anything else associated with it. Alternatively, if you have a hard time wrapping your brain around such an open-ended assignment, you may discuss a religion with which you are already very familiar and tell me what you like about it but also what you’d change about it.

*****This should be a minimum of 3/4 of a page typed single space but you may go as in-depth as you like so I won’t give a maximum.

1- Consider why religious people are religious and what benefits religion can provide? Are there benefits to belonging to an organized religion? What does your newly created religion offer? It might also be very helpful to spend some time learning about religion around the world and seeing “what is out there” already and see if anything gives you some idea.

REMEMBER: This is just a thought exercise. It is in no way meant to either discourage or encourage any person to join or leave any faith. Learning about the world and various religions and philosophies in it does not mean that you personally endorse or plan to participate in anything with which you are not comfortable. It simply means that you are learning more about the world you live in and the people with whom you share it.
