Assignment 1- Introduction Section EBP Proposal (5% of Total Grade)
Due- Week 2
Length- No more than 2, double-spaced pages (not including the cover page and the reference page)
Format– Use APA format for the paper and for the reference list

In this assignment, you will write the first part of your research and/or EBP practice change proposal. As you learned from the first week’s readings, a well-constructed proposal is required to obtain approval to complete a project or conduct research. A proposal describes the project in detail to include: the purpose, the significance, the state of the literature on the topic, the research design, methods, participant recruitment and protection, and how you will analyze the data gathered during the project itself. You are not conducting the project in this course. You are developing the proposal to submit to the IRB. The introduction is the first part of the EBP proposal. Please follow the assignment guidelines below.

Assignment Guidelines

1. Complete all of the required readings for Week 1.
2. In the discussion forum for week 1, you identified a nursing problem or area of interest that you will focus on for your evidence-based proposal and you have formulated the research question that you will be a part of your project throughout this course.
3. Using the information from discussion forum 1 (as described above), you are to write the introduction to your EBP proposal. You will include:

-The purpose of your EBP project in either a question or statement format (Review PowerPoint from week 1 reading)

– A detailed description of why your project is important. Include the background and clinical significance of the question or the problem. You will support the background and significance of the topic with evidence from current nursing articles, textbooks, or websites (current within 5 years).

-A well-structured PICOT question is included reflecting the foundation of the proposal.

4. Follow APA format including cover page, header, in-text citations, and reference list.
5. Use correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation that adhere to the Master’s Level writing requirements.
